Yoga is an ancient tradition which is still relevant in today's modern society. It is a way of life, a union with all, not a physical fitness system or religion. Yoga, over time, releases human potential, the full power of your mind and body become available to you. Yoga is not just about increasing or developing flexibility and strength, although these are excellent side effects. It is about letting go of restrictions of our body and mind. Their are eight limbs of Yoga:- Yama - moral codes Niyama - self purification and study Asana - posture Pranayama - breath control Pratyahara - sense control Dharana - concentration Dhyana - meditation Samadhi - contemplation Through regular practice of yoga the eight limbs are nourished. We become more aware of the world around us and how we interact with it. These subtle changes happen over a period of time. We need patience and a willingness to explore new experiences.
